At the end of this month I'm going on 2 cities breaks in the space of 10 days, and I'm only taking hand-luggage for both, and if you know me then you know that this will be a struggle!
So I'm going to impart some wisdom on you and hopefully try and make myself realise that my incessant over-packing is an issue. However, my overpacking will never be as big of an issue as it is for Leanne!
First things first, what are you going to wear to travel in?
You need an outfit that is comfortable for the journey to the airport (hello busy train on bank holiday Monday!), that is comfy and slightly warm (or layerable) for the flight which is almost always cold, and is then climate-appropriate when you get to the other side!
I picked up this number from New Look, it's a bit longer so its warmer for the flight whilst also being loose and airy for when we land and can go with my trainers or fancier shoes.
AND IT'S A JUMPSUIT.
As for shoes, this is the issue. You will want comfy trainers for exploring the city you're in, but comfy trainers aren't always the most aesthetically pleasing! Luckily, my Adidas Gazelle's are THE comfiest shoes I own and because they're quite slimline and black, they go with everything while still looking relatively dainty. Also necessary (in my eyes anywhere) are some slightly dressier shoes for evenings, I picked up these peep-toe loafer tye things in Topshop and will probably end up taking some lace-up low block heeled sandals too. Is 3 pairs of shoes for 3 days excessive? Probably.
Also, TOP TIP get some sexy blue shoe covers that you find at swimming pools and put them on your shoes before you pack them, that way you won't have to try and flatten them down the sides so they don't make your clothes dirty!
(Imagine these shorts have been ironed okay?)
Now, ladies. I am about to show you something. and bare in mind, these pants aren't your sexy pants. They aren't the pants you wear on the third date that you think may be going very well. They are the pants you wear because you are on a city break wearing skirts and dresses and it's hot and your thighs are rubbing together and it's uncomfortable.
Brace yourselves.
They ain't pretty, but they work bloody well at reducing chub rub!
And there we have it, some of my absolute top tips for travelling with hand luggage on a city break!
Let me know your essentials!
C'ya!
