The Christmas Tag.

Hi guys!
Merry Christmas for tomorrow!

This is a tag I found online and I thought I would join in with the festivities!

1. What do you do when it snows? Stay in or go out?
I used to love going out and playing in the snow with friends! I have vivid memories of going over to my friend Jenna's house every time it snowed, as we went to different schools and it was an excuse to see each other more! We would spend the morning throwing snowballs at her little brothers, then come in for hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows and whipped cream, then in the afternoon we would go back out and throw more snowballs while making snowmen!
However, over the years my coordination seems to have decreased so now I enjoy staying in with a tonne of duvets and blankets watching films and drinking tea and hot chocolate. Basically finding any excuse to be lazy!

2.What are your favourite Christmas films?
The Grinch, Elf, Love Actually, Home Alone, The Santa Clause.
I watched my first Christmas film of the year in August, I don't see any problem with that?

3. In your opinion, what is the best part of Christmas dinner?
All of it! I'm fairly fussy in comparison to my family so I avoid Brussels Sprouts and stuffing, but other than that I eat all of it! I love Carrot and Swede Mash so I like to make sure that there is always plenty of that, as well as Yorkshire puddings, Roast Potatoes and Pigs in Blankets.
However, I also love the fact that the whole family sit round the table, pull crackers, have a laugh, tell jokes and generally enjoy themselves. For me, Christmas is all about being with my family and it is why I look forward to Christmas so much!
this was taken just before our last Christmas dinner, apparently my brother and I like to coordinate!

4. 3 celebs you wouldn't mind kissing on Christmas Day?
Harry Styles
Harry Styles
Harry Styles.

I'm just kidding! It would probably be John Mayer, Jim Chapman and George Clooney
(and Harry Styles)

5. What age did you stop believing in Santa? Or do you still believe?
I wish I still believed! I think I was about 7 or 8!

6. Do you have a Christmas Tree every year?
We have an artificial one, but i'm pretty sure we used to have real ones each year when I was younger! I love the smell of Christmas trees, So I can't wait to have my own house so I can have a real tree!

7. Best present you have ever received?
It has to be this years from my brother! He paid for my ticket to see 5 Seconds of Summer next year and i'm so excited!

8. Best present you've ever given?
A couple of years ago rob and I bought a set of saucepans for our parents, does that count? It sounds a bit naff but they wanted some new ones so we took the opportunity and we took it! I also really like the gift we got our parents this year and I can't wait to see them open it!

9. Favourite winter outfit?
Layers are an absolute staple!
Chelsea boots with warm cozy socks are also important, then some really thick leggings to keep my legs warm. I then love wearing shirts with jumpers at the moment, so either a plaid or denim shirt with either a chunky knit sweater or a Christmas jumper.  A good warm coat is obviously important, especially if you feel the cold as easily as I do! Then i'm a sucker for chunky scarves with matching beanies, bonus points if they have a bobble! Gloves are important too, I also love chucking a hand warmer into them too if things are particularly cold one day!
If i'm staying in then I love thick tights (the super cozy ones from primark are amazing, they keep you so warm because of the fleecy lining!) and an over sized t-shirt worn as a dress. Slippers are a must and a thick blanket draped like a cape is obviously a necessity!

10. How many of the Home Alone films have you seen?
I've seen the first two, the ones with Macauly Culkin. The first one is my favourite because it is just so silly and an absolute classic!

11. Do you have any Christmas traditions?
The only one I can think of is where we all go to one of my aunties on Boxing Day and spend the afternoon/evening playing games and eating. this has been happening for years, as well as the annual quiz which we haven't missed yet. We did nearly miss it one year due to us being unable to go and stay with my grandma and granddad over Christmas, so we tried to take part via email (this was before the days of Skype) which didn't really work very well, but it still counts!

12. Favourite tasty treats?
Celebrations used to be really good until they took out the Galaxy Truffles and put in Twix's but I reckon they still make the cut!
I also absolutely love homemade ginger bread as well as drinks that have cinnamon or peppermint flavoured syrup added to them.

13. Is Rudolph your favourite reindeer? Why?
hell no!
Rudolph is so over-rated! I like to think Cupid is a ditsy loved-up reindeer who always has a crush on other reindeer, so he/she wins it for me!

14. Top 3 Christmas carols/songs?
Feliz Navidad by Jose Feliciano
I never shut up about this song! It is so catch and I love turning it up loud and singing and dancing along while getting ready!

Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade
if this isn't in your top 10 then you're lying to yourself!

Driving Home for Christmas by Chris Rea
This song is always played on trips to my grandmas house, because for my mum she is actually driving home!

15. How good are you at wrapping gifts?
I'm not too bad. My mum is obviously better than me because she can get 'the Glide' but i'm miles better than my brother and dad!

16. Do you write Christmas cards?
I used to not bother with Christmas cards, but since i've been at uni i'm getting better!

17. Any Christmas Eve Plans?
Like every year, Today I travelled up to North Yorkshire to visit my mums side of the family.
This was taken as we left my Grandmas last year, they decided to swap hats!

18. Who has your heart this Christmas? Will they still have it next Christmas?
Harry Styles.
Yes.

19. Have you ever been away from home for Christmas or will you in the future?
The only place other than my family home that i've been for Christmas is my Grandma's house, so it doesn't really count!
One day I would like to visit New York over the Christmas period, but I can't imagine having a Christmas away from my family. I guess it doesn't really matter where the Christmas is, as long as i'm with my family then I don't mind!

20. Do you have a Christmas jumper?
Yes, 2!
I have one that I got last year from Primark men's section. It has a snowman on it with a 3D nose which has led to the jumper being referred to as 'the Dick Nose Jumper'.
Fab.
I also got one October from the Boys section of Tesco (it's aged 13-14 and it's a bit baggy...) and it has a picture of a Meerkat wearing a Santa hat and scarf on it!
From Halls last year, the empty bottles in the corner really add to the festivities!

Taken on a surprisingly warm day back in October!

So that's it!
This might be my last post of 2014 and if it is then I just want to say thank you so much for reading over the past year! I am honestly so surprised that I kept this going as long as I did and I can't wait to see what the New Year brings for me!

I hope you have an amazing Christmas

C'ya!
Emily xo
